Terms of service

These terms of service (“terms”) are the agreement between you and Weera Agri / Farmey (“we”, “us”) for using the Farmey mobile application on iOS, Android or the web build of the app, and for reading the public pages on farmey-superapp.netlify.app.

Creating a Farmey account means you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account and do not use the parts of the app that need one.

1. Who we are

Farmey is a Sri Lanka-focused farming app: market prices, weather for the field, crop advice, plant diagnosis, farm records, and reading on knowledge and government services. The legal operator is Weera Agri / Farmey.

2. Who may use Farmey

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live (in Sri Lanka, that is ordinarily 18). Farmey is built for people who farm. It is not directed at children under 13.

You may use parts of the app without an account. Farm records on the device still work. A cloud profile, a push token stored against a user, and signed API calls need a signed-in account.

3. Your account

You can create an account with email and a password, or with Google Sign-In. You are responsible for the email and password you use, and for activity on that account. Tell us at support@farmey.lk if you think someone else is using it.

You may request that we delete the account by following Delete your Farmey account, or by emailing weeraagriculture@gmail.com from the address on the account. Deleting the app from a phone removes on-device farm records; it does not by itself delete the cloud account.

We may suspend or close an account that is used to abuse the service, attack it, or impersonate someone else.

4. What Farmey is - and is not

Farmey helps you look things up and keep your own records. It is not:

• an agronomist standing in your field, a government office, a bank, an insurer, or a buyer of your crop;
• a pesticide label, a gazette, or a substitute for the Agrarian Service Centre;
• a promise that a crop will grow, a price will hold, or a claim will be paid.

Advice and Plant Doctor

Crop, pest and fertiliser tools, and Plant Doctor, are general guidance. Check with your agriculture instructor before spending money or spraying. Plant Doctor is an AI estimate from a photo you take or pick; for a serious outbreak, confirm with your agriculture officer. It is not a laboratory result.

Farm Advisor is a beta feature and is not part of the public release yet. Advice you see there may still change.

Plant Doctor has a free allowance (five successful checks a week on a device, in the current app). That count lives on the device. A reinstall resets it. We may change the allowance.

Prices, weather and news

Market prices, weather and news in the app are for information. A price is not an offer to buy or sell. Weather is a forecast for a place you chose or for the field while the app is open; it is not advice on when to spray.

Knowledge and government services

Knowledge articles are short guides. Government Services notes are a starting point, not official notices. Names, forms and windows change by season and by district. Farmey does not submit applications for you. Check with your Agrarian Service Centre. The National Harvest Plan, where it exists, lives inside the app - not on these pages.

Experts and Farmey Pro

Expert Advice is meant to be a person (an agronomist or extension-style reply), not a chatbot. Farmey Pro is not on sale yet. The Home tile may still open a paywall; that is not a charge, and there is no purchase flow in the current app. Write to support@farmey.lk if you want to be told when Pro is available.

Farm records

My Farm - plots, cultivations, money in and out, tasks, and bills you attach - is stored on your device in the current app. We do not hold a cloud copy of that ledger. If you lose the phone or delete the app, those records go with it unless you have a backup of the device. You are responsible for what you enter and for keeping a copy if you need one.

5. Acceptable use

Use Farmey only in ways the law allows. Do not:

• try to break, overload or scrape the app or our APIs beyond ordinary use;
• upload content you do not have the right to use, or that is illegal;
• misrepresent a Plant Doctor or advisory result as a certified diagnosis or as our instruction to spray a named product;
• use another person’s account without permission.

6. Content and intellectual property

Weera Agri / Farmey owns Farmey’s name, mark, app and the text we publish on these pages, except where we credit someone else. You keep what you enter (farm names, notes, photos you take). You grant us a limited licence to use photos and text you send to a feature (for example a leaf photo to Plant Doctor, or a support email) so we can provide that feature and keep the service working.

Do not copy the app or these pages to run a competing service. You may quote a short passage with credit for personal or educational use.

7. Privacy

How we collect and use information is in the privacy policy. That policy is part of how Farmey works; it is not a separate product.

8. Stores, third parties and connectivity

The App Store and Google Play have their own terms for installing the app. Google provides Sign-In if you choose it. We use Firebase, Sentry, Expo and hosting providers as described in the privacy policy. Their terms apply to their services.

Features that need the network will fail without a connection. An offline copy of something you already opened may be out of date.

9. No warranty

Farmey is provided as is. We aim to keep it working, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular crop, field or season. Advisory tools, prices and weather depend on data and models that can be wrong or late.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Weera Agri / Farmey is not liable for crop loss, spray damage, a missed subsidy window, a price you did or did not take, or other loss that comes from relying on the app or these pages - including where we were told that kind of loss was possible.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that Sri Lankan law does not let us limit (for example fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, where that rule applies).

If a court nonetheless holds us liable, our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Farmey in the twelve months before the claim - which, while Pro is not on sale, is none.

11. Changes

We may change the app and these terms. We will update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will describe it in a release note or an in-app notice where we can reach you. Continuing to use Farmey after that means you accept the new terms, except where the law requires us to ask again.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Sri Lanka. Courts in Sri Lanka have jurisdiction, without limiting any consumer right you have that cannot be waived.

13. These websites

The public URL for these terms is https://farmey-superapp.netlify.app/terms. Knowledge, Government Services, Experts, the privacy policy and these terms are static pages. They do not require an account.
