Nursery Management
Suitable period for nursery establishment is mid of March or end of August. 1 m x 3 m size raised bed (about 15-20 cm raised) is recommended. Remove clods of earth and stubble. Mix well decomposed farmyard manure and top soil 1:1 ratio and lay on the bed to 5cm thickness. Add paddy husk and straw layers on the surface of the bed and fire from the opposite to the wind direction and burn the nursery bed. Apply 2g of a fungicide (Captan or Thiram) to 125g of seeds as a seed treatment before place in the nursery. Mark lines on the nursery bed each 12 -15 cm apart and 0.5 cm deep perpendicular to the long side of the nursery bed. Sow the seed as a thin layer on the lines. Cover the seeds with fine soil layer. Mulch the nursery bed using clean paddy straw and water the nursery bed daily and sufficiently.
Planting
Transplant the seedling to the field 14-18 days after sowing. A week before transplanting seedlings should be hardened by reducing the application of water but 12-14 hours before transplanting the seedbed they should be thoroughly watered again to avoid excessive damage to the roots well grown. Healthy Seedlings with 3-5 true leaves are most suitable for transplanting. Transplanting should be done in an afternoon minimize the transplanting shock. After transplanting, the new transplants should be covered with Glinisidea trees or any similar plant twigs provide shadow
Fertilizer
Mix 10 t/ha of well decomposed organic matter with the soil of selected field. Additionally apply chemical fertilizer as below recommendation. Apply basal fertilizers 2-3 days before planting
Chemical fertilizer recommendation for all district except Badulla District.
Apply the above recommended triple super phosphate per hectare for Badulla District at the rate of 215 kg / ha.

1 m x 3 m ප්රමාණයේ පාත්ති සැකසීම (15-20 cm පමණ උස් වු පාත්ති) නිර්දේශ කෙරේ. පස් කැටිති හා ඉපනැල්ල ඉවත් කරන්න.හොඳින් දිරාපත් වූ ගොවිපල පොහොර සහ මතුපිට පස් 1: 1 අනුපාතයට මිශ්ර කර පාත්ති මත සෙන්ටිමීටර 5 ක ඝනකමට අතුරන්න.
පාත්ති ජීවාණුහරණයට පාත්ති මත දහයියා සහ පිදුරු ස්ථර මාරුවෙන් මාරුවට දමා සුළං දිශාවට ප්රතිවිරුද්ධ පැත්තෙන් ගිනි තබා තවාන් පාත්ති පුළුස්සා ගන්න. තවාන් පාත්තිවල බීජ දැමීමට පෙර බීජ ග්රෑම් 125 ක් සඳහා දිලීර නාශක (කැප්ටන් හෝ තිරාම්) ග්රෑම් 2 ක් යොදා බීජ ප්රතිකාර කිරීම සිදු කරන්න. තවාන් පාත්තියේ හරස් අතට 12-15cm දුරින් 0.5 cm ගැඹුරට රේඛා අඳින්න. මෙම රේඛා මත තුනී ස්තරයක් ලෙස බිජ වපුරා ගන්න. ඉන්පසු බීජ සිහින් පස් තට්ටුවක් යොදා ආවරණය කරගන්න. පිරිසිදු පිදුරු භාවිතයෙන් තවාන් වසුන් කර දිනපතා පාත්තියට වතුර දමන්න. පැළ මතුවූ පසු වසුන ඉවත්කරගත යුතුය.
පැළ සිටුවීම
බීජ වැපිරීමෙන් දින 14-18 කට පසුව බීජ පැල ක්ෂේත්රයේ රෝපණය කරන්න. බීජ පැල සිටුවීමට සතියකට පෙර ජලය යෙදීම අඩු කිරීමෙන් බීජ පැල දැඩි කළ යුතු නමුත් බීජ පැල පාත්තියෙන් ගලවා ඉවතට ගැනීමට පැය 12-14 කට පෙර ඒවායේ මුල්වලට අධික ලෙස හානිවීම වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා නැවත හොඳින් වතුර දැමිය යුතුය. හොදින් වර්ධනය වූ නිරෝගී පත්ර 3-5 සහිත බීජ පැල ක්ශේත්රයේ සිටුවීම සදහා වඩාත් සුදුසු වේ. බීජ පැල ක්ශේත්රයේ රෝපණය කිරීමේදි සිදු වන කම්පනය අවම කිරීම සඳහා සවස් කල සිටුවා පැල ග්ලිරිසීරියා වැනි ශාක අතු වලින් ආවරණය කළ සෙවන සැලසීම යෝග්ය වේ. අව්රශ්මිය අඩු සවස් කාලයේ පැළ සිටුවීම යෝග්ය වේ.
පොහොර
හොඳින් දිරාපත් වූ කාබනික ද්රව්ය (ගොම පොහොර) හෙක්ටයාරයකට ටොන් 10 ක් පමණ වගා ක්ෂේත්රයේ පස සමඟ මිශ්ර කරන්න. පහත සඳහන් නිර්දේශ පරිදි රසායනික පොහොර යොදන්න. සිටුවීමට දින 2-3 කට පෙර මූලික පොහොර යොදන්න

ජල සම්පාදනය
බෝගයට ප්රමාණවත් සහ ඒකාකාර ලෙස ජලය ලබා දෙන්න. වැඩිපුර ජලය යෙදීම සුදුසු නැත. විශේෂයෙන් වියළි කාලයකට පසු වැඩිපුර ජලය යෙදුවහොත් ගෙඩි පිපිරීමට ඉඩ තිබේ.

Sow the seed thinly spaced on the lines and press gently. covering the seeds with fine sand.Water the bed daily and mulch it using clean paddy straws.
Planting

A week before transplanting seedlings should be hardened by reducing the application of water but 12-14 hours before they are taken out of the seedbed they should be thoroughly watered again to avoid excessive damage to the roots. Seedlings of 15-25 cm tall with 3-5 true leaves are most suitable for transplanting. Transplanting should be done in the afternoon or on a cloudy day to reduce the transplanting shock. If the transplanting is done in shiny day the transplanted plants should be covered with twigs of plants like Glyrisidea.
